Director's Corner

“If you want to steer your organization down the road to change, you must keep looking forward, through the windshield. By the time opportunities appear in the rear- view mirror, it’s too late to take advantage of them.” Todd Whitaker

Perfect quote as RFCSL moves forward reviewing and fine tuning all the opportunities we may have missed over the years, including restructuring the administration team. In April 2023, RFCSL introduced changes within the Community Access leadership team and thus far, those changes have proven to be effective based on the positive feedback we continually receive from the folks we serve, community access support staff and the administration team. These changes have inspired RFCSL to continue fine tuning our practices related to RFCSL’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, Policies and Procedures. This enables RFCSL to be known as a leading-edge service provider, providing the best support and services by a top-notch dedicated frontline workforce within our financial means. Led by RFCSL’s small but mighty management/leadership team following our motto, “nothing about us without us”.

Linda Williams, Client Services Manager, will be reaching out to all permitted subcontractors and guardians (public and private) to set up quarterly meetings, either face to face, zoom or a combination of both. These meetings will be hosted by Rob Halfyard, CEO, and Linda Williams, Client Services Manager.

I am very excited with all the recent changes that have been implemented and the new upcoming changes. I look forward to having the opportunity to chat with all our teams.

I am conducting a temporary internal Audit until our fine tuning and restructuring is completed. Thank you all for your patience, cooperation and understanding. Greatly appreciated.

“Just one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.”

Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!!

It is so Hot!!!!!!!

The weather in Calgary has been so hot with record breaking temperatures. Thank you everyone for assisting your clients to carry proper items to ensure safety during this heat wave.

Hot off the press – We still have a few new clients beginning services with Resourceful. Recently we had (3) new individual start day program. Soon we will have another (3) in Community Access and (1) individual in Residential. Keep an eye on Humi for Contracted Residential opportunities.

Share Vision will be a continuous hot topic of conversation. I am happy to report that the submissions from day staff and permitted subcontractors are done well. We are getting great information, transparency, and proven effective team communication ensuring the best care and support for each client. Continue to reach out to me if you require any support. Thank you everyone.

CET countdown is on, only 10 months to go! May 07, 2024, is circled in red hot ink. Preparations have begun, policies are being reviewed, and boxes are getting checked off. The clients have been chosen, and I will be in touch with all the teams directly involved in the coming weeks.

From my cooled air conditioning office to the hottest team I know, I would like to extend a thank you for all that each of you do.

-Linda

COORDINATORS REPORT

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and has made some wonderful memories with your friends and family.

We would like to thank you all for your patience in learning to navigate Share Vision. Please let us know if you have any questions or need any support and we would be happy to assist. We would like to ask Permitted Subcontractors to please go into your Individual’s Profiles and go through each heading to confirm that all information is correct.

Just a reminder that with this crazy Calgary weather we need to prepare our individuals with proper attire and accessories that they may require for the day.

Reminder if your individual is having time off over the summer to please let the Team Leaders know as soon as possible so that they can adjust their schedule.

Congratulations to Darryl R. for being the Permitted Subcontractor of the Month. Darryl has been a long-term member of our team and has outstanding success with the individual that he supports.

Thanks, Darryl, for all you have done and will continue to do!!!

COMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAM NEWS

During the week of May 22-28, 2023, RFCSL joined to celebrate Community Disability Service Workers Appreciation Week here in our Province of Alberta. Our essential front-line staff are recognized for their positive contribution in giving services and support to our individuals and their families. Exciting daily events happened at the day program as the company’s way to express their gratitude to our hard-working staff. To mention them, there were: muffins, scones, coffee, and tea served all throughout the day during the first day. It was followed by a half day workday. On the third day, there was a special “thanks to you” song presentation from our talented individuals dedicated to their amazing workers. During the final day, there were gift basket draws and FREE Lunch for everybody. We would like to thank Admin for their appreciation and support.

On July 14, the company held a fun and sunny Stampede Party outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather. The whole day celebration kicked in with a Ya-hoo Bingo, followed by mid-way games. Free lunches were served at noon and the line dance presentation happened in the afternoon. The highlight of the event was a mini concert performed by our invited guests; it made the celebration more fun. Our individuals did not leave empty handed as Stampede giveaways were given to each one of them. Thanks to the Social/Cultural and Client committees for making the event a successful one.

Please help us welcome Glenda, Blessing, Amber, Oluwafemi, Nyawar, Monica and Hanifa, our new team members. We are happy and excited to be working with all of you. Welcome to our growing Resourceful Futures family.

Lastly, please enjoy our clients’ Stampede photos.
