Yay we did it!!!!!! – RFCSL achieved 100% on our CET Level 1, and Complex Needs Designation, Level 1. We all played a critical role in making this happen. RFCSL has the greatest bunch of employees that are completely dedicated to the success of our organization. Each one of you makes RFCSL PROUD!!!!
Commendations Specific to Quality Measures1 • QM 6.1.L1.1: RFCSL is commended for the excellent feedback from staff regarding their employment and the organization. Long-term staff (e.g., 20 years plus) speak to the high caliber of the staff; their commitment to individuals and the organization. Staff spoke of furthering their careers as well-advanced learning opportunities that makes RFCSL a wonderful place to call their daytime ‘Home’.
As many of you have heard by now, Eric Jensen, one of RFCSL’s founders has retired from his financial position with RFCSL effective June 30th, 2024. Eric was dedicated and passionate about his years as an involvement. Eric has made exceptional contributions and developed many close relations with the clients we support. On his days off many of the clients would ask me where Eric was and when would he be back in? Eric would always bring a little meaningful trinket from his vacations.
Prior to hanging up his retirement shingle, Eric fully trained Rakesh, Operations Manager, to understand every aspect of financial matters. Both Eric and I are very pleased to have Rakesh assume this very valuable position.
Having said that, Eric will remain as a volunteer consultant continuing to monitor and mentor Rakesh. RFCSL is very fortunate to have him in this critical volunteer role.
Please join me in wishing Eric the best retirement ever and thank him for his many years of dedication and passion to RFCSL.
Rakesh was promoted to Operations and Financial Manager. Rakesh, we are all confident that you will continue to excel in this role.
As the past year has been one of the busiest years ever with restructuring, training, revising the entire policies and procedure manual, preparing for the CET Certification, it’s time to slow down and enjoy the summer.
All of us at RFCSL, wishing each one of you, leaders, management, employees, subcontractors, guardians, clients and the list goes on, a beautiful fun filled summer.
Once again, thank you ALL for your continuous support and guiding RFCSL to be one of the top agencies in all areas.

COMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAM
Over the last 3 months there were several events that took place. We celebrated Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Mental Health Awareness, and National Indigenous Month. During these events we completed an easter egg hunt, gave flowers to the moms and baseball caps to dads.
In May, we celebrated all the moms and mom-like figures at RF. Showing our thanks and gratitude to everything they do here at Resourceful. A fresh rose was given to each of the amazing women here at Resourceful.
June was a special month as we had our ‘RF Taste of The World’ fundraiser. During the event we saw presentations from Afghanistan, India, Africa, Philippines, and Canada. There was traditional dancing from all nations, indigenous drumming, and Metis Red River Jig. Following the presentations traditional dishes were served in a buffet style. So many flavours from all around the world; including Jollof rice from Africa, Pancit from Philippines, Chai from India, Manto from Afghanistan, and Bannock from Canada just to name a few of the many dishes prepared.
In this month as well, we gave a special thank you to all the fathers and father-like figures here at resourceful gifting each of the men with a ballcap.
June was a very busy month including the celebration of National Indigenous Day. There were a few events that clients attended downtown that included demonstrations of Indigenous dance/powwow, and drumming. A few of our clients also attended a special dance lesson at the Central Library, learning how to do traditional Métis jigging.
It’s been a very busy few months as we have kickstarted our summer season and everyone is looking forward to the warmer weather!
A special thank you to EVERYONE for the support and contributions to the cultural festival, and for ALL the committees helping with organizing the events, as well as keeping us all safe.
Please give a warm welcome to our new staff: Ayen M. (CDW)
